Artist Statement
I am presenting work that confronts the viewer
with an experience that is both spatial and visceral. This use
of materials that have a mundane or residual nature is suggestive
of a process of addition, division and expansive megalomania, which
has its own internal logic and intricate structure. My materials
evoke a visual slippage from accumulation to deterioration and
from beauty to base, all to blur the distinction between object
and subject. By compiling silent information (or residues), an
accrual of bits reveals a new order, or maybe even an entirely
new object or material, and exposes the subtle possibility of an
alternative cosmology.
